James! The Edirol R-09 HR is a highly respected digital audio
recorder. It's respected for the high quality stereo recordings it makes
and respected for it's accessibility by blind users. It fits in your shirt
pocket, has built-in stereo microphones, uses SD cards up to 32 Gigabyte in
capacity. The retail price is $450 and I sell it for $359, includes
shipping within the United States.
I can't recommend microphones. I use a great pair of Radio Shack mics
for binaural recording but they aren't made any longer.

               Jerry

Subject: Microphone and Recorder Advice Wanted

> Hi all,
> I want to purchase a good voice recorder, and some good stereo, possibly
binaural microphones to go with it. The mics have to have clips to attach
them to a shirt collar, glasses etc, and they need to have good sound
quality. I want to make recordings that when I listen back to them the audio
sounds just like it did when I was listening to it with my own ears. I do
not, however, want to have to spend thousand's of dollars on the equipment.
Thanks for any suggestions anyone can offer,
