Robert, try this. Go to the settings dialog under the options menu. Tab down to where you hear "Total Recorder Virtual Device Status" That will be just above the Troubleshooting dialog box. There will be a checkbox there for turning off the Total Recorder driver when TR isn't running. Make sure that box is checked, and you should be good to go. I don't immediately remember having your particular problem, but I kinda think I did a few years ago, and if so, I haven't had the problem in as many years since, therefore there's at least a good chance that unchecking that box just might do the trick. I have installed TR7 and when my system reboots I find I have no audio because tr7 has switched my sound card settings to point to itself and volume is set to zero. I have already looked in the archives and the only answer that addresses this has so many typos that it is illegible nor does it say specifically where to go to fix the problem.
