It is true that when operating the transmitter from the USB port, there is a
slightly high pitch sound. This, however, is not much of an issue as the
unit comes with a USB wall plugged power supply. With this power supply,
there is absolutely no noise. The transmitter can also be powered via 3
triple a batteries.
As for distance, I am able to use the headphones throughout my house as well
as out side.
$85 is the best price that I was able to find and the delivery was fast here
in Canada.

What range are you getting from the system? Is the $85 price the best
you've seen? The reviews were mostly favorable except for the guy who
said his didn't work at all, and the one who mentioned a buzz when
charging from the USB port. How much battery life are you getting on a
charge?

Go with LTB audio's Q-Bean ST digital 2.4 ghc headphone system. This
system will permit you to use your existing wired headphones. The range
and sound quality have to be experienced to be believed.

I'm thinking about buying a wireless stereo headset to work with the
computer as well as other devices. So it doesn't need to connect via a
USB
port, but through the sound card, or to a headset jack on other devices.

can't recall whether it is bluetooth or RF that is restricted to line of
sight to work well. Any recommendations will be appreciated.
