I'll try my best to explain the process. I am using foobar 0.9 by the way.
Ok so when you go to preferences and under general there is an item in the treeview called shortcut keys or something like that. When you tab through, the first list you will come to are the shortcut keys that are already defined. If you haven't set any yourself this list will only have a few things in it. There is an add button that you can tab to. Press spacebar and shift tab back to your shortcut list. You will see a blank entry in the list. You want to be sitting on a blank entry in this list to create a new shortcut. Now, tab over until you see the tree view of all the commands in foobar. Remember there are several sections of commands this is why it is in a treeview. Remember that there is a difference between main, playback, and now playing. Anyway... After you have found the command you want to use press tab. You will be placed in an edit box. At this point type the key command exactly how you want it. Once you're done with that keep tabbing until you come back to the first listview of defined shortcuts. You should see your entry that was blank. It should now be filled out with your key(s) and command. Hope this helps and please feel free to contact me if you're confused or it doesn't seem to work.
