You can find the position of the cursor, and the playback position in the
Selection bar. Ctrl+F6 cycles you round the toolbars, the table of tracks, and
the selection bar. When you open Audacity you're initially in the table of
tracks, so to move to the Selection bar, just press ctrl+f6. You can then move
through the controls in the selection bar by pressing tab. These controls
include controls for selection start and audio position. When there's no
selection, then selection start shows the postion of the cursor. For more

The equivalent of Goldwave's queue points are labels, which are contained in a
label track. Unfortunately, these label tracks are not very accessible at the
moment: creating labels is ok, but once the labels are created, if you tab
through the label track, the labels are not read by screen readers. However,
there's an Edit Labels editor (opened from the tracks menu) to get round this
problem. This contains a table of the labels, with their names, start and end
points.j Note that Jaws 11 doesn't read this editor properly, but this will be
fixed in an Audacity release, hopefully in December.
To create a label for the current cursor postion or current selection, press
ctrl+b, type in a name, and then press enter.
To create a label for the current playback position, press ctrl+m, type in a
name, and then press enter.
Note that in both these cases the focus is moved to the label track. Because
it's easy to accidentally create a label when the focus is in the label track,
it's normally best to move back to an audio track after creating a label (up
arrow moves you up a track).
