Question regarding speech prompts on the dm-520

If I purchase the Olympus DM-520 through a retail outlet, do the speech 
prompts come enabled by default or will I need to turn them on? If so, where 
is the menu to which I will need to point my wife in order to accomplish 
this? Thanks.
