That's been my problem as well.  Yes, I do have the advanced on the record
side, but gosh darn it I just want some tone control access.  Seems like it
shouldn't be too much to ask but I guess it is.

I have a sound blaster live and a sigmatel audio and in both cases advance 
appears as unavailoble.
