One question if I may. Does the Plextalk Pocket or does any
accessible small recorder have anything resembling a timer
which one can set for recording the audio from a program in
the middle of the night? At present, I use Total Recorder
for this purpose but would love to find a small recorder
which I could connect to the audio outputs from a cable box.

bret, I would say the plextalk pocket is the best choice,
for many reasons.
as a lot of people have stated it has everything a person
could want in a
recorder/ book player/ music player.
the company is committed to the betterment of blind peoples
access to
digital content.
I would deffinitly say that i would buy the plextalk pocket.

Hi. Ok, I have been following the threads on here about
digital recorders
and players. It seems like most people agree the the
plextalk is the best
choice. I'm looking for something that has good to great
recording quality,
easy to transfer files back and forth, and can read books.
The plextalk
seems to have all of these features. Is there anything I'm
missing before I
make this monumental decision?
Someone did say the olympus was better for recording quickly
or on-the-spot.
What is everyone's opinion?
