I wouldn't bother with the "latest" version if I were you, bugs in it so
I'd stick with Ver 3.98, as the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke then
don't fix it".

The latest stable release is 3.98 as far as I know and I don't think

have been any more releases.
Installation is simple, just extract LAME.exe and LAME-ENC.DLL to your
windows\system32 folder, CDEX and others should pick them up there.
