I would agree with Jim regarding going to file type which is one tabe over
from the filename box. Press the letter a for "any file" and shift tab
twice back to the list of files. They should be visible.

Not sure it'll do what you want, and not sure it's the same under Vista,
but you could try going to Start -> Control Panel -> Folder Options and
then navigate over to the File Types tab.
