My provider is Mediacom. I'm using the Motorola DCT6412 box, but the driver
seems to support most if not all of the DCT64 series. You want to use the
left firewire port if you are facing the front of the box. It's been
reported that people have had problems getting the data if they used the
right port (again if you are facing the front of the box).

Once the drivers are installed for XP, you use a program called,
"capDVHS.exe" to capture the stream, and save the file as a .TS file. You
can set the timer so that once you start recording, it will only record for
the specified amount of time. I can play the .TS files using either Windows
Media Player, or a program called "VLC Media Player". Though the Windows
Media Player seems to be more accessible. One thing to consider, if you
don't have a lot of free space on your HD, you might run into some problems.
A raw HD stream with its audio can take up a whole lot of real-estate.

Blessings,

Brian
