When you say "list of sounds" what list are you refering to?
I apologize if you already know this, but you can see the different
events you can associate with different sounds in Start Menu -> Control
Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices. In the Sounds tab, there's a tree
view with all of the different events. Note that this includes Windows
events as well as events from other applications. You can use the Play
button as you move through this list, and maybe you can identify which
event is using bing.wav as well as the other sound you're looking for.
You can also use the Browse button to find and use sounds (*.wav) in
places other than the default.

In addition to my original message, I'm hearing a beep from my laptop, but its
not a sound from my available choices when browsing. Best way i can describe
it, is that it sounds like a sort of game: its not appearing in my list of
sounds.
