I'm late to this thread, but it looks to me as if the original file is likely in a compressed format.
A standard 700 meg disk usually gives you approximately 1 hour 20 minutes of recording time. If your program's any good, it should tell you that there's not enough space on the disc for what you want. In any case, it depends on what size of cd.
