My brother and I have a question

Friends, My brother called me, and well he's not familiar with jaws 
or talkiing software for Ipods. Neither am I to be honest.

What are some good IPod brands that will be compatible with the 
talking software or whatever to make it work?
I'm sorry if this sounds stupid or a out of it question.
