Hey Brian. Well, this is a gigabyte motherboard recommended for audio use. the computer is from studio cat, which is highly recommended by many blind musicians. So it should be good. I will write to gigabyte and tell them about this. And since I'm having other issues. I will also write to studio cat.

It is highly likely that some of my other issues are being caused by a faulty external hard drive. I notice that when that drive is turned off, I don't have some of the problems.

Bob.

Hey bob,
Well I really understand you, but you can't be sure that fault is the only one on that board. Funny enough I've seen exactly the same sound issue on one computer afew years ago.

Best regards
Brian

I hope I don't have to return the motherboard. I'd need to take it out of
the computer, so better to send the whole tower back. Problem with that is,
gonna cost me about 60 bucks to ship it as I bought it from an American
company. And I live in Canada. I don't want to do that, but I will if I
have to.

Bob.

What does that add up to? Frustration!

I have a new computer and I have been having all kinds of problems even though this computer was made for audio. You wouldn't believe it.

First there is an error on the motherboard so the only way you can get rear channels from the sound card is to plug them into the side channel speaker jacks

Next I added an external hard drive with all kinds of media and Windows media player went crazy! I repared the library and it still goes crazy. I removed that drive from the library and now Windows is taking a long time to shut down because the sharing option is taking a long time to shut down.

nuts!

As Marvin the Martian said in a Bugs Bunny cartoon quote oh drat those computers. They're so naughty and so complex, I could pinch them! end quote.
