If the device you plan to use these speakers with has Bluetooth then you can use something like the Jawbone Jambox speaker system we've discussed on list.
Yep I know, its not an "Airplay" compatible system rather its a Bluetooth compatible one but its still pretty good quality. Now I could be terribly wrong here but I don't think an "Airplay" speaker system that runs on battery power and is the size of the Jambox exists for the simple reason that wi-fi connections can take a fair bit of power. As I say, could be very wrong but would love to get hold of such a thin kif it indeed exists.
