Cool. That's what they all do. The only one that does speak the date and
time and system info and stuff like that that most of them don't is the
DM-4. That's because it has a TTS engine to be able to read the text files.
This one probably has the recordings of that English lady they always used
ever since the first 3 DS recorders that talked. But it's still cool
anyways. A fully professional recorder that is accessible and doesn't as
they say cost an arm and a leg.

Regarding the discussion of this upcoming product, I emailed Olympus about
the speech output and here is the response.  It does sound like all menus
are spoken at all levels.

Dear Richard,
The Voice Guidance speaks the Menu options and the sub options of each
respective option. It does not speak date and time settings.
