Alternatively there are probably other resources on the web that give proper
tracklistings and so on for the albums you need to enter properly. This
often depends on the genre. There are archives out there for jazz,
progressive rock, metal, etc, where you can find that info; it's usually
more reliable than CDDB, but of course they only list the discographies of
their respective genre artists.

Hello Colin:
It gets the unique number of the CD and with that, it gets the info from a
database in the internet. When I rip one that does not appear in the
database, or has the wrong information there, as happens from time to
time,
I borrow a pair of good eyes, normally my wife's, and ask her to read me
the
number of song and the info from the CD cover.

Subject: Ripping Music
Hi All,
Tidying up my music library and addking all my Mrs nonsense to it. When
ripping with WMP often comes up as unknown album which is from what I
can
tell is when web connection is down. Firstly does it get the album
details
from the cd in the drive or from the web? Secondly how can I go through
the
unknown album rips and identify them, is there a way? Many thanks
Colin
