Yes I think it's to promote continuing development by providing basic
features in the free version and the rest can be unlocked by paying a
few bucks for a pro version.

I bought the program, I realize that 15 bucks isn't a lot for someone's
work on a program, but isn't it a bit odd that you are paying for a
program that allows you to listen to free online radio? I suppose the
same could be said for paying for internet which gives away supposedly
free content, but just thinking aloud.
