The last time I used Adobe Audition was Adobe Audition 3. It was the best
audio production software I ever used under $1000 but sadly it is not the
most speech friendly. I still think it's one of the best tools for home
production as far as noise reduction but I don't know anyone who has been
able to make it play nice with the leading screen readers.

I liked older versions of Audition, but I would try a demo first before
deciding. They changed how they display data and it is a little hit or miss
with any
screen reader unless it has gotten better.
