How does the audio alert feature work now?

Has there been a discussion with Chris, the creator of GoldWave to provide
an audio alert when the input signal reaches 0 DB? Of course, that would
require:
1. The ability to send the alert to a different soundcard rather
than
the card used for the audio recording. And,
2. The ability to turn this option off, especially, for those who
are
using only one sound card.
