Hi!

I've made considerable progress with this tuner since I last wrote about it
nearly a fortnight ago.

The tuner sounds brilliant! on all bands - even AM - which is most pleasing.

I can tell you that the best way to control the tuner is with its compact
remote control unit which runs on a coin cell battery, from here you can access
all the functions of the tuner.

There is a menu system however you will not need to enter this for many of the
tuner functions which include setting up the presets.

Both FM and AM have 30 presets each whilst the DAB/DAB+ band has 40.

The presets can be accessed in several ways, by using the up/down preset
buttons on the remote control, by selecting the "Preset tuning" mode using the
"Tuning Mode" button on the front of the tuner or by entering the number of the
preset using the number pad on the remote controller.

Presets are easy enough to set, just tune to the radio station you wish to
preset, press the "Preset" button on the remote control, type in the number of
the preset you wish to attach to the currently playing station and press the
"Enter" button - the "Enter" key is easily identifiable as its the round key in
the middle of the up/down/left/right circle of keys.

If you want to store stations in presets above 9 then you type in the number
and then the 10+ button.

I'm told the display of the tuner is very easy to read, the brightness level of
the display can be varied.

I mention this tuner knowing full well that DAB and DAB+ bands are not
available in the U.S. however perhaps Yamaha madke a similar model of tuner to
this for the U.S. market which features HD functionality?
