Hi I have been using a PS3 as a blue ray player for the last year or so. The player is slightly bigger than the standard set top box and it has 2 buttons only, eject and on/off.
I bought a sony remote to control it and this works fine but does depend on how much sight you have. I say this because a recent upgrade changed the sequence of buttons i needed to press to access the player. My kids do use it as their main games console as well so it did make a lot of sense financially. Will definitely need some sight for set up and orientation.
