If you want to get into the AirPlay game and want to stream your audio from your computer then there's a completely different - and probably more sensible - way to do it than the various ways discussed here thus far, we've talked about using software such as Virtual Speaker and Airfoil to capture the audio and to stream it using AirPlay over your Wi-Fi network.
There's an even easier way to do it and that's using an AirPlay Dongle. The dongle looks like a sound card to Windows so any audio you want to stream by AirPlay? Just redirect it to the Dongle and there it is for your AirPlay compatible device to receive and for you to listen to. These audio Dongles are just the tip of the iceberg, there are video AirPlay dongles available to allow streaming from your computer to an AirPlay compatible display/TV or even an Aple TV connected to a standard TV.
