I recieved this at the door at 5 minutes to 5 this afternoon and I was fully enjoying the system and its functionality by 6 O'Clock.
The system is incredibly easy to setup both for Bluetooth and AirPlay streaming, no sighted assistance is required though you will need the cable for your IOS device to initially get the Speaker connected to your Wi-Fi network, the Speaker transfers data about your Wi-Fi connection from your IOS device, Voiceover will guide you all the way, all the user need do is hold down 2 buttons on the speaker for 5 seconds to start the AirPlay Wi-Fi setup process. Bluetooth is similarly easy to pair with your IOS device, just set the Speaker to Bluetooth and pair. A lot of adjectives come to my mind when I listen to this system, bargain, nice sound, good value, loud! and similar could be used. For $150 the Speaker will not disappoint most people with its multiple tweeters, passive radiators and sub-woofer driven by digital Class amplifiers which are certainly noticable. The Speaker is mains powered so it would be at home on a kitchen counter or in a small room given its size and the space will be well filled with sound. I'll detail the model later after I've had more of a play with the unit but to be honest, I don't think there's much more for me to do with the Tompson Bluetooth AirPlay speaker except to sit back and enjoy the music.
