Okay, looks like I'm out of luck trying to get a XW-SMC5 in Australia but the XW-SMC4 and XW-SMC3 still seem readily available in Australia at least.
As has been noted, the XW-SMC5K has a CD/DVD player built-in which is multiple format playback.
