2 Winamp settings questions

I'm running Winamp 5.66 on an 8.1 desktop.  I cannot locate two settings 
which I very much want to change.

First, whenever I play an Audio CD, Winamp wants to look up the CD on a 
database.  Many of my CDs are home brew, so I do not want Winamp to 
commence a database search.  How do I squelch it?

Second, I need to change one of the plug ins so that the up and down 
arrow keys control Winamp's volume.  Is that an output plug in?  If so, 
which one do I use?
