Yes, I bought one of these radios quite some time ago though its not one I listen to much, I think the Sangean DPR25 has a better sound to its speakers. It doesn't have all the functionality of the model you mentioned however its far easier to use.

For example, if you wish to scan for stations then you don't have to go through a menu system as you do with the Pure One Elite, just hold down the scan button and the radio starts a scan.

Whilst the Pure model has more presets I much prefer the way the Sangean does things, has 5 dedicated preset buttons.

No, the DPR25 doesn't provide pause/Rewind/Fastforward facilities however it does have a line out socket.

I have the Sangean DPR17 radio which does record and provide the time shifting fuhctionality of the Pure and its more flexible than the Pure for a number of reasons.

The First is that the Sangean DPR17 uses a SD card thus you're not limited to internal memory, you can transfer your recorded files to your PC and so on and this - for me at least -was a serious shortcoming with the Pure.

I believe you would have made a better purchase had you bought the Sangean however, the Pure radio is not a bad radio by any manner of means, I've seen far worse.

And finally, the most accessible DAB radio I've seen is without doubt the Sangean WRF28D, you can read the scrolling text via an IOS App, browse your stations, see the RDS text on FM and so forth.

Hi all
Received this radio today from

it's a DAB/FM digital radio system. The product is quite accessible even without speech. Once you know the basics like adjusting the volume and selecting a station it's a piece of cake. Of course changing settings, retuning or resetting to factory defaults may need sighted assistance, as well as the advanced functions of the radio. One cool feature that may or may not be usable by us is the ability to pause and rewind live radio, as well as record programs for later listening. The programs are stored in its in-built memory. There is a USB port located on the side but it's only used to update the firmware from what I gather when downloading the PDF manual a few days ago which, by the way, should be accessible with your favourite reader, there is also an auxiliary input port so you can connect your iPod or other MP3 player. Cost £84.99.
