And as I say they have specialised wireless headphones which is specialized for hard of hearing persons.
The transmitter has a function which smooths out lound and soft sounds for example. This is a bit detrimental to music quality but for a hard of hearing person it may allow for the sound to be more intelligible. I believe in the newer transmitters you can actually switch the circuit on and off. Something important to consider in your father's situation. And I do speak with personal experience in this regard as I also have a hearing loss and have had one for the last 30 years. They used to manufacture specific wireless headphones for hard of hearing people. I had two different sets of them actually. ' Subject: looking for wifi headphones Hi We are looking for recommendations on wifi headphones for someone with hearing problems. My dad would like some earphones that are wifi, they are light to wear, he wants to use them on the tv, he has to have it really loud in order to hear it, also he would like some that can filter out a lot of the back ground sound, does anyone have any ideas please? He specifically would like some like the old stefascope design but I have not seen these in a long time. Again they must be wifi and not cable as it would not be practical, on amazon there are loads, it is hard to know what to look for. Our neighbour has some, he plugs them into the tv or connects them but it is still possible to hear the tv even though the person is using headphones.
