That's quite alright Mary, I wrote about the B&W P7 from my own personal experiences through hearing them, if they're available for $300 then best "Grab Them Whilst They're Hot", you're not - in my view - going to get a closed pair of cans that sound as good as this for $300 I don't think.

I've read one review of the P7 and I didn't think it over the top, if anything the author of the review wondered what B&W could have done with those cans had they not paid such detailed attention to the build quality, is there anything that needs to be done?

I admit that I have not read every item in this thread, but now I am
curious. Is there anyone on here who has heard or owned both the p5 and
the p7? I heard the p5, although I don't own a set, and they were
pretty darned nice. But reviews seem to indicate that the 7 is a
significant step up. I'm always a bit skeptical of reviews that are
over the top with their praise. And there is no longer a store in town
that has B&W products. So it'd be mail order all the way if I decide to
get a pair some time later this year. I think the p5 is still made, if
I'm not mistaken. Any comments?
