Hello Hank:

No, I don't use Centova Cast either, I create my playlists directly in
Shoutcast 2. I installed Shoutcast 2, but you could use Icecast 2 instead
if you prefer, actually there is a version of that called Icecast KH that
allows you to stream in AACP and be reproduced by Flash Player.

What I did was to set up a VPS and installed Shoutcast, then wrote some PHP
scripts, but you do not actually need scripts, what you need is to read up
on the structer of the streamer software, be it Shoutcast or Icecast, upload
the audio files to the appropiate folder for each playlist and create the
calendar file that the server needs to run each playlist at a certain time,
with the backup of the list called "rotatio" to play when another playlist
is not playing, before the next scheduled one begins.

There is a learning curve, you have to read a lot about either Shoutcast or
Icecast, but once you master it, you can run your station from pre-recorded
files as I do. You would still need Station Playlist Studio if you or one
of your presenters wants to do a live program.

Regards,

Bert
