Well, here is a link to Jonathan's well-written post for those who want another perspective. I think he makes good points and I do not see the advantage at this time of dumping the jack. A lot of what ifs don't cut it, and really, vr audio? If the choice is between vr audio or some other equivalent of eye candy for the sighted, I'll take convenience and inclusivity.
