Hi. I've just bought the same unit in the last8 days and I had a similar problem. Playing books isn't a problem but to play music and to get features such as the random play, you need to creat a folder on the pen drive called $VRMusic and to put your music files inside that folder. Actually, I had to creat a subfolder called music and put all my music files inside that. As I said, I Just got this player last Tuesday and haven't got to grips with it. I actually prefer my Plextalk PTN1 both for ease of use and sound quality but it is showing it's age and on two occasions I thought it had died, then it decided it wasn't going to die but I reckoned I'd better get something to replace it sooner rather than later.
