Hi!

I've had a FetchTV set top box for well over a year now.

This box is not to be confused with an Apple TV or any other Android Set Top Box we've been discussing here, the Box actually runs LYNUX and Open Source code.

FetchTV is available in Australia though I don't think its available in other countries.

The Box is able to receive standard Digital Free To Air TV through its four in-built TV tuners and can receive Internet TV via channels you may choose to subscribe to.

Given the power of the FetchTV box you would also assume that Apps can be downloaded to add extra services such as Netflix and other Subscription services, the assumption is correct.

Furthermore the FetchTV user can install Apps on to their IOS or Android devices to control the wole FetchTV system which gives people without sight a whole interesting array of accessibility options we've possibly never experienced before.

The most obvious is the FetchTV Guide which can be searched through or viewed on an IOS or Android device, you can of course "Schedule" a show you wish to record for later viewing or have a reminder sent to your device so you know not to miss the programme.

So now we know we can access the FetchTV box what about those extra bits and pieces such as Netflix?

I was pleasantly surprised that the Netflix App itself on IOS and Android provides the accessibility link to your Fetch, found a show or movie on Netflix you wish to watch? select "Connect to FetchTV" from the Netflix App running on IOS or Android and then double-tap the "Play" button when you've found your viewing, that's all there is to it.

Your viewing will then start playing through the FetchTV Set Top Box which is generally connected to your Television or Surround-Sound receiver.

There's quite a bit to FetchTv and I was about to do a Podcast on the system however recent App updates along with new discoveries by Yours Truly about the system have forced me to hold off any Podcasting on the subject while I learn my way around the new and updated parts of the fetch TV system.
