I received the chrome cast earlier today and I’m impressed! The new unit is far smaller than the older Chromecast I had and will run on my 5.0GHZ Wi-Fi network whereas the older unit wouldn’t look at it. I setup the Chromecast from the Google Home App on my iPhone but I’m going to reinitialise the Chromecast down the track and try setup from my Samsung Galaxy S6, I doubt I’ll have any difficulty doing all that. So far I’ve been able to connect to Spotify and Tunein Radio Pro Apps on my Samsung. There are still some things I need to do like working out which Apps I’ll need to stream video files from my network drives to the Chromecast. I did a quick Google search on this topic and found something called Plex which appears to do the job so I’ll try this later on and see just how accessible the App is under Android. I was hoping that Allcast might do the job but no luck, Allcast finds the Chromecast and I can get to the files I wish to stream but when I double-tap a file the file doesn’t play on the Chromecast. On the IOS side it seems that the File Browser App will stream to the Chromecast just fine for video files on my network so I’ll try that in coming days. I must say its a real buzz, I’m sitting at the Mac computer in my Den typing this eMail whilst Tunin Radio Pro runs on the Galaxy S6 streaming Radio 2GB to the Chromecast in the lounge connected to the Denon AVR2113 Surround-Sound receiver which in tern is connected to the Television. I can control Tunein Radio with my voice on the Samsung Galaxy S6 using Google Now, I’m getting a little tired of Warren More on 2GB so I think I’ll “Play Radio 2Ch with Tunein Radio Pro” and listen to that instead.
