Although I find this interesting, I have a bit of a problem. I have a blue ray player which works very well, unless one turns off the TV to which it is connected via HDMI. I have a digital audio connector on the player. But regardless of whether I am playing DVDs or audio CDs, as soon as the TV is turned off, there is no longer any signal to the audio system. I just do not like the requirement that the television be on when I want to listen to audio. Also, suppose another family member wants to watch television.

Any Blu-Ray Player should work, that's the whole purpose behind Pure Audio, to use hardware which is already in a lot of homes.

Up until now we've had SACD - Super Audio CD -, equipment to play SACD'S can be rather costly and setup can be a problem.

So now that Pure Audio has come a long - a format that can be played in a Blu-Ray player - this should simplify a whole lot of htings and make HD Audio readily aand easily consumable by the masses.
