Hello, I have no clue about the reason of this. I just tried to get the readme of the latest sol10 kernel patch by issuing pca -r 137111 on a internal machine, which uses our patch-proxy with apache2 and the pca-proxy in cgi-bin. pca is at the latest version.
the download hangs and after looking at the proxy I saw many empty files in /tmp -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:25 README.137111-0412174963507718 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:25 README.137111-0412174963567794 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:26 README.137111-0412174964148539 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:27 README.137111-0412174964719102 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:27 README.137111-0412174964789221 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:28 README.137111-0412174964919451 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:28 README.137111-0412174964949489 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:28 README.137111-0412174965279954 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:28 README.137111-04121749653210017 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:28 README.137111-04121749653610110 -rw-r--r-- 1 webservd webservd 0 Jul 31 11:29 README.137111-04121749654610220 . . . and (after about 3 minutes) 2 thousand processes running. webservd 7814 224 0 11:25:58 ? 0:00 /usr/apache2/bin/httpd -k start webservd 7428 224 0 11:25:31 ? 0:00 /usr/apache2/bin/httpd -k start webservd 7436 224 0 11:25:32 ? 0:00 /usr/apache2/bin/httpd -k start webservd 7810 7782 0 11:25:57 ? 0:00 perl -x -w /var/apache2/cgi-bin/pca-proxy.cgi README.137111-04 webservd 7443 7436 0 11:25:33 ? 0:00 perl -x -w /var/apache2/cgi-bin/pca-proxy.cgi README.137111-04 webservd 7445 7443 0 11:25:33 ? 0:00 sh -c /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963337443 http://ftp.g webservd 7441 7437 0 11:25:33 ? 0:00 sh -c /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963327437 http://ftp.g webservd 7448 224 0 11:25:33 ? 0:00 /usr/apache2/bin/httpd -k start webservd 7449 224 0 11:25:33 ? 0:00 /usr/apache2/bin/httpd -k start webservd 7447 224 0 11:25:33 ? 0:00 /usr/apache2/bin/httpd -k start webservd 7500 7495 0 11:25:36 ? 0:00 sh -c /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963367495 http://ftp.g webservd 7467 7466 0 11:25:34 ? 0:00 /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963347462 http://ftp.gfz-pots webservd 7469 7459 0 11:25:34 ? 0:00 sh -c /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963347459 http://ftp.g webservd 7483 7482 0 11:25:35 ? 0:00 /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963357473 http://ftp.gfz-pots webservd 7486 7474 0 11:25:35 ? 0:00 sh -c /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963357474 http://ftp.g webservd 7466 7462 0 11:25:34 ? 0:00 sh -c /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963347462 http://ftp.g webservd 7482 7473 0 11:25:35 ? 0:00 sh -c /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963357473 http://ftp.g webservd 7479 224 0 11:25:35 ? 0:00 /usr/apache2/bin/httpd -k start webservd 7501 7500 0 11:25:36 ? 0:00 /usr/sfw/bin/wget -q -O /tmp/README.137111-0412174963367495 http://ftp.gfz-pots . . . the download with pca without using the proxy is working fine.have you any hints where to look? this behavior is dangerous because the proxy is doing some other work too and it will become unavailable very quickly if this happens again.
