I am having trouble with this kernel patch and was wondering if some of you could help me. I noticed in the PCA archives that some others were having trouble with this patch as well, but my problem seems to be a little different (I think). Here's my environment:
SunOS 5.10 Generic_120011-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V440 There are several patches that rely upon 127127-11, but since 127127-11 is not installed, none of these others get installed either. It doesn't seem to be an issue with PCA itself - it does its job. It's something with my server, but I'm not exactly sure what. When I try to run pca -i 127127-11, I get this: (last few lines) Checking installed patches... Verifying sufficient filesystem capacity (dry run method)... Installing patch packages... Pkgadd failed. See /var/tmp/127127-11.log.10096 for details Patchadd is terminating. Failed (exit code 5) The log files doesn't seem to help much - or at least it's cryptic and I don't understand it. Here's the last few lines of the log: ERROR: Command mount in safemode sandbox not found usage: puttext [-r rmarg] [-l lmarg] string pkgadd: ERROR: class action script did not complete successfully Installation of <SUNW1394> failed. Right now this is in multi-user mode and it appears that several users are able to apply this patch in this mode and did not reboot in single-user mode. I'm hoping this is something I can do in multi-user mode since it's not really practical to reboot in single-user mode since this server resides in another location. Anyway, if you have any ideas or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! Jamen McGranahan
