Sunday, November 3
------------------

Thirteen teams arrived to a gray and overcast day in Santa Barbara,
yet tempered by a light and encouraging breeze. Two sets of A and B
races were completed during a slowly dying breeze until eventual
dissipation of the breeze occurred just after 1:00pm and postponed the
A fleet from getting on with their 2nd set. A short on the water break
and a gentle puff touched down and slowly spread across the water. A
down coast current still made it tough to get off the line (making it
very easy on RC to sight the line), however racers worked their way
around the course in a light Southwesterly. Eventually, the breeze
fully filled in after the fog cleared around 2:45pm and another 3
races were completed for both divisions in a Westerly breeze at 7-9
knots.

Congratulations to Cal State Long Beach for picking up the win,
followed by UC Berkeley, and the Westmont Warrior Women's team in
third.

Special head nod to the Long Beach City College Vikings who competed
in their inaugural event and finished 4th overall (starting with two
bullets out of the gate in A fleet). Also welcome to Santa Barbara
City College who restarted their team after a few years out of the
game. Cal Poly rounded out the top five.

Great racing by all and lots of fun. Thanks for making the drive guys!
