This weekend is PCCSC Southern Series #5 Designate. All teams planning to participate in the PCCSC Dinghy Championships must compete in this event. The NOR is posted at www.pccscracing.org .
Please make sure to update the attendance (Varsity, Women's, JV) spreadsheet at: <https://docs.google.com/a/ussailing.net/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ag3WTTudmLqXdH g0MHcyS25ndzROTlNwc25YWUdrT2c&usp=drive_web#gid=0> https://docs.google.com/a/ussailing.net/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ag3WTTudmLqXdHg 0MHcyS25ndzROTlNwc25YWUdrT2c&usp=drive_web#gid=0 This weekend is also the finals of the Congressional Cup so we will be sharing the Belmont Pier with Con Cup. We will sail a bit south to keep our race course clear of the Con Cup Course. There will be bleachers, food booths, and lots of activity on the pier which should make it fun. We will still rotate off the docks at the pier where the bot currently sailing division, extras and spectators will reside. However, we will have coach boats available in case our course is a bit further from the pier. Please plan accordingly. We are happy to charter CFJ's to anyone that does not want to bring a boat. $100 for the weekend (you bring sails). Please contact me ASAP if you would like to charter. IMPORTANT: This weekend is also the Long Beach Grand Prix. Downtown Long Beach is a mess and many roads are closed near downtown. DO NOT TAKE SHORELINE DRIVE NOR the 710 Fwy past PCH. Teams coming from the North down the 405 Fwy I would recommend taking the Cherry Street off ramp and go toward the Ocean on Cherry Ave. Turn Left on Willow Street and go 3 major blocks to Redondo Ave.. Turn Right on Redondo Ave. and go all the way to Ocean Blvd. (dead end into the harbor). Turn left on Ocean. Stay right on Ocean Blvd to the US Sailing Center. >From the South take the 405 Fwy North to Westminster Blvd. Exit. Take Westminster Blvd. West across Pacific Coast Hwy (road name changes to 2nd Street) and through Naples Island. Turn Left on Bayshore, stay left and turn left again on Ocean Blvd to the US Sailing Center. Supposed to be sunny but cool and about 11 knots from the SSW. Michael H.
