Title: Sperry Women's Eastern Semifinal Summary

Wednesday, May 23

The day opened with 10-14 from the south. As the day progressed, the wind swung right and died, eventually ending in a light northwesterly. FJs delayed on water and the z420 fleet headed into land to wait out the wind delay. After about 45 minutes a northeasterly seabreeze filled in at 8-10 knots and racing continued. In total, 12 races in each division were completed by 5pm.

Two protests were filed, one was withdrawn and the other resulted in Navy DSQ from race 12A.

Thank you to our Judges, Doc Sullivan, John Pratt, Rob Overton, Ray Groble, Jerry Thompson and Andrea Luna.

PRO Cara Vavolotis did an excellent job getting racing off in challenging conditions. Big thanks to the Monarch sailors who assisted with race management and land based ops.

Congratulations to the Top 9! First warning at 1000 tomorrow morning for the finals.
