For all teams planning to attend the Jeff Simon at UCSD this weekend:

There is wet and windy weather forecast for Southern California through
Saturday evening and into Sunday. Please use extreme caution while driving
to the event. There is no penalty for late drop, so feel free to pull the
plug if you are concerned about getting to/from SD this weekend.

For teams driving from the central coast (SLO) and up north (Davis), please
check in with UCSD before taking off today. You are potentially in for a
wet and windy drive to- and from San Diego, so it may be worth
reconsidering. Please use your best judgement here.

I have spoken with Erika from UCSD this morning and she will be in touch
with team leaders via text. She says that with the current forecast they
are likely to try to sail Saturday until the breeze builds in the early
afternoon and then again on Sunday morning.

Reach out with any question and stay safe.

We will receive an update from UCSD and the conference later this
afternoon.
