Please join me for a conference call to discuss the attached proposal from
the ICSA Executive Committee. We will meet on Wednesday, January 8 at
5:30pm Pacific. Dial-in information is below.
The proposal has significant impacts for College Sailing and our
conference. It proposes action items found in the consultant's report from
last spring, including:
1. Hiring of an Executive Director for the ICSA
2. Bringing greater specificity and diversity to the membership of our
ICSA committees
3. Adjustments to the intent of nationals berths to move from a
participation-based model to a performance-based one that also still allows
for participation from each conference. These changes include the following
steps:
1. Re-Alignment of Conferences
1. Combining the NWICSA and PCCSC Conferences
2. Merge Gulf Coast SEISA schools with SAISA and inland SEISA
schools with MCSA
3. Create 5 ICSA Conferences (instead of previous 7) – MAISA,
MCSA, NEISA, PCCSA, SAISA
2. Creation of three new memberships types for schools to replace the
existing REGULAR, PROVISIONAL and ASSOCIATE
1. Cross-Regional
2. Regional
3. Conference
3. Adjustment to Interconference schedule to categorize existing
events as either “CROSS-REGIONAL” or “REGIONAL”
I have been in touch with ICSA leadership, the Executive Committee and
NWICSA and MCSA commissioners. For background, I will relate some of their
comments and ideas on the call.

and come with questions, comments and/or concerns. If you have questions
