PCCSC Sailors and Coaches,

As concerns about Coronavirus and travel mount, I want to reiterate that
the ICSA and PCCSC have adopted a policy to allow late drops and
cancellations without penalty. For in-conference PCCSC events, please
notify the host and commissioner (me) ASAP if you will not be attending an
event that you have scheduled. For out-of-conference events, you must
contact the host, commissioner and the ICSA Scheduling Coordinator ASAP to
inform them of the drop. Drops of OOC events should include an official
letter from the school or equivalent saying that travel to the regatta site
and competition is not permitted by the school, which can be provided after
the fact.

Our foremost concern is for student-athlete wellbeing and safety. Look out
for yourselves and each other and if you are concerned about travel, please
reach out early and let us know.

Best,
Blaine
PCCSC Commissioner

Conference Commissioners,
Please share the following information with your membership directly.

In light of the spreading Coronavirus and its implications, the Executive
Committee has authorized a permissive stance for late drops and
cancellations with an official letter or statement from the school's
athletic director or other appropriate school official indicating that
travel to the regatta site is not permitted. All such late withdrawals
shall follow normal protocol notifying the host, appropriate conference
schedulers and the ICSA Interconference Coordinator.

As the situation develops or changes we may offer additional guidance. If
conference championships are ultimately impacted the General Championship
<https://collegesailing.org/documents/Championship_Conditions/General_Championship_Conditons.pdf>
Conditions, and Procedural Rules will apply. For example, a conference must
seek approval from the ICSA President to award a conference's nationals
berth to a team that did not compete in the conference championship, or
award berths in an order that is not consistent with the conference
championship.

Obviously we hate to see events impacted and canceled. I recognize that
much will be out of our hands. The ICSA Executive Committee will continue
to monitor how our teams and host venues may be impacted.

At this time enjoy these early spring events; and wash your hands.

-Mitch
