Hello all, this weekend is our Fall Pacific Coast Championships held in Santa Barbara. Below are important notes to review for the event:
- *Event documents* are uploaded at https://scores.collegesailing.org/f21/fall-pacific-coast/. Please update the PCCSC schedule with the number of teams you're bringing ASAP - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yQcX40P_q08m5lv0fnXaz6IZ8AiCFMVTqiGCldnzF4s/edit#gid=1687227023 - *Entry fee* is $25 per team (so if you are bringing three teams for example, the fee is $75). Charter fees are $100 per boat for the weekend. Cash okay, or venmo @bschaupe, or checks made out to 'OSL' with 'UCSB Sailing' in the memo line are accepted forms of payment. - *Format:* - Varsity is 3 division = teams must bring 2 boats, 2 PCCSC legal sails, and six sailors minimum for a varsity team. - JV is 2 division = 1 boat, 1 set of sails, and four sailors minimum for a JV team. - VARSITY ORDER OF STARTS Varsity A will start the day by completing one race. They will start their second race and when they hit the gate, we will go into sequence for B division race 1. After A completes their second race, they will go in to rotate with C division. By the time C division comes out, B division should be starting race 2 and we will go into sequence for C division when B division hits the gate. - JV ORDER OF STARTS - We will start with A division and sail three races then rotate with B division. The rotations can be changed to two race sets at any time. - *Women's Regatta* - similar to Stoney Burke, we will be breaking out the scoring for the women's teams on the varsity course into a separate regatta, but they will be starting and racing in the coed fleet. - *Sail Numbers* must be as listed here: https://pccsc.collegesailing.org/pccsc-documents/sr-appendix-b-pccsc-sail-policy. Examples (using UCSB 31/32): - Coed UCSB could use sails: 31 & 31, 31 & 131, or 31 & 311 - Women UCSB could use sails: 32 & 32, 32 & 132, or 32 and 321 - *Chartering teams:* WWU (2 boats for varsity division), UC Davis (2 boats for varsity division / 2 boats for JV division), , UH (2 boats for varsity division). If this is not correct, contact me ASAP. - *Launching Venue* will be at the SB Harbor launch ramp. Park your trailers/boats only in the back row of the harbor launch ramp in the yellow stalls. Yellow stalls are for trailers, boats, and cars *attached to trailers.* White stalls are only for single vehicles without trailers. The harbor department will ticket those vehicles or trailers parked incorrectly. - *Coaching / Spectating Venue* will be off the SB break wall: Tents, chairs, and coolers are permitted to be brought but must not block emergency vehicle movement to the end of the break wall. *Please put tents on the beach*. Don't put tents on the walkway right next to the break wall or the circular area at the end of the break wall. - *TRASH *- We *must* keep the break wall and parking lot clean. Any trash, whether ours or not must be picked up. I have secured extra trash containers, but we are asking each teams help in taking the trash bags to the SBYC dumpster at the end of the day. Additionally, I'm requesting the conference to go out of their way to pick up any trash they see whether they left it there or not. - *Other Notes: * UCI and CSUMB are looking for charter boats for the weekend. If anyone in the conference can please help them out, it would be greatly appreciated! If I think of anything else, I'll shoot an email out. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you all this weekend!
