PCCSC Conference, The last two years have been a period of rapid change for our world and for college sailing. Our PCCSC By-Laws were last updated in 2007 and certain changes are necessary from time to time to keep our governing documents relevant for the needs of our teams and volunteers. Our current by-laws are thorough and precise, and we owe a debt of gratitude to their authors for giving form to our organization for all of these years.
As we entered COVID, it became apparent to the PCCSC Executive Committee that updates to our By-Laws were required in order for us to better serve our conference. As teams from the Northwest have joined (UW and UO) and requested to join (WWU) our conference, our fundamental borders and regions needed to be updated. As our communities grappled with ways to make our sport more inclusive and diverse, we needed to add additional language that addressed these critical issues. *The below represents a proposed set of amendments and updates to our PCCSC By-Laws.* This effort has been *spearheaded by our UG President, Mackenzie Berwick* (Berkeley '22), with consultation from me, our Graduate Executive VPs Brad and Grace, our executive committee and our conference TIDE committee. *Please review the below prior to our Annual Meeting on January 22nd.* If you have questions, I will be holding office hours to discuss these changes with the conference. *Please email me if you have questions* and once we have critical mass I will schedule a meeting time that works for the group. These conversations will lead to an FAQ that I will share with the conference. Amendments to our by-laws require a 3/4 vote of our conference representatives and officers at the annual meeting, so we are hoping that we can address questions now so that there are not any surprise questions left at the meeting in January. Here are the key documents (and thank you once again to Mackenzie for her efforts here!): Original By-Laws <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s9s698knwz2L6m3uqbaGIsXLdjAf5c0M11PpuhoA7sI/edit?usp=sharing> - these are our current by-laws, last updated in 2007. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s9s698knwz2L6m3uqbaGIsXLdjAf5c0M11PpuhoA7sI/edit?usp=sharing Amended By-Laws <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U5q_VNsK2HgR9zEo2Nm2PX2xn-D362Xa_INdz6I0jXI/edit?usp=sharing> - these are the proposed, updated by-laws.
