Santa Barbara Yacht Club is looking forward to hosting the PCCSC Open Team
and Fleet Race Championships, Friday through Sunday. It looks to be a very
warm (80's) and hospitable forecast. Please make sure to have plenty of
water.

You can fill out your RP info on techscore now and event documents are
posted for both events.

There is free parking on Bath Street or at Pershing Park, or you can park
in the public harbor lot (fees apply). Please remember that all boats and
sails are provided for these events, so do not tow boats to the venue!

For Team Racing on Friday, we will be on the water all day, so it is
important to have plenty of water and food. These provisions and alternate
players will be on the coach boat 'Layline'. An inflatable rib will be
trailing off the back of Layline. The rib is the only place boats will
rotate off of (absolutely no pulling up alongside Layline). If players
need to use the bathroom, they can do this on their bye round and pull the
rib up to the swim platform of Layline and use the bathroom on board that
boat. We will put one cooler of water on this boat, but every team should
bring provisions for themselves for the day. Coaching will also take place
from Layline or the rotation rib. All coaches should bring a lifejacket.
We will attempt to get through the round robin of ten teams and any
tie-break sail offs on Friday. We will sail two rounds of the top four on
Saturday morning weather permitting.

Our umpire team will be led by Glenn Oliver on Friday and Bryan McDonald on
Saturday. Joining them will be Lucas Pierce, Sam Reynolds, Matt Long, and
Claire Hunt.

For Fleet Racing on Saturday, please note that 1pm is the report time. We
may be finishing up the team race regatta right up to the 1pm deadline, so
if there's no one on the dock right at 1, be patient while the boats sail
in. For those teams starting in boats 13-17, rig those boats in the harbor
launch ramp parking lot when you arrive. Rotations are on techscore. We'll
have a quick competitor briefing and then hit the water. We plan on
sailing as long as breeze is good on Saturday, so prepare to be out pretty
late. On Sunday, the cutoff time is 4:00pm per our standing rules unless
we get all 18 races done ahead of schedule.

Finally, please be sure to bring your own trash bags and throw away your
trash in the SBYC dumpster on your way out after racing. Overflowing trash
cans on the breakwall are not acceptable.

I look forward to seeing you all this weekend!
