Dear WG,
I submmited a new version of draft-peng-pce-entropy-label-position-06. This
draft proposes the extensions for PCEP to configure the entropy label positions
in SR-MPLS networks as described in RFC8662. Multiple EL/ELI pairs may be
inserted in the label stack and the inserted positions SHOULD be whithin the
ERLD of a maximize number of transit LSRs.
This draft is useful and reasonable for two use cases as following shown.
1, For intra-domain scenario, the ingress node need to evaluate the minimum
ERLD value along the node segment path. But it will add complexity in the
ELI/EL insertion process. The ingress nose can get the path minimum ERLD from
PCE and perform the insertion of ELI/ELs based on the minimum ERLD value.
2, For inter-domain scenario, the ingress node of the first domain cannot find
the minimum ERLD along the path and does not support the computation of the
minimum ERLD.The PCE can compute the Entropy Label Position including the
number and the places of the ELI/ELs.
Any comments and suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks,
Quan
