OSX is based on BSD, not Linux.
YDLinux is probably the best of the PPC specific Linuces and I prefer it
to boring old LPPC because it has extremely good hardware support: it runs
great on Apple Network Servers, which is good for when stockholm needs an
upgrade, and for people with old RS/6000 systems burning holes in their
closets, it runs on those also.
I still prefer NetBSD/macppc because it's much less bloated, but it won't
run on 601-based PCI Power Macs yet. Runs great on G3s and G4s, though,
and it's much smaller and sleeker.
