Same here on a 7600 with XLR8 g3 zif socket upgrade. In addition, not all
the RAM chips have to be in pairs. At least, that's the report I'm getting
from TattleTech. It says that 6 out of the 7 RAM chips I have installed are
interleaved. I'll have to check this with MacBench 5 sometime, since it also
reports RAM interleaving and will also run a test to show me what the actual
speed improvement gain is.
By the way, all the recent talk of interleaving reminded me of the
explanation of interleaving on the GURU application. If you haven't read it
you should (it's in the glossary). It's the epitomy of computer nerd humor.
